STORIES OF COURAGE & GRACE
With a goal of creating awareness, promoting volunteerism and raising needed operating and program support for The Virginia Home, we created Stories of Courage & Grace™ in 2011. Our inspiration came from the residents of The Home – people who live their lives with courage, grace and dignity in the face of considerable obstacles. Speakers for the annual event are chosen for their inspiring and compelling stories that resonate with people from all walks of life.
On April 9th, we celebrated our 5th Annual event with guest speakers Marlee Matlin and Henry Winkler. And before the big evening event, Marlee and Henry visited The Virginia Home. They shook the hands of every resident and staff member present, signed autographs and posed for numerous ‘selfies’. Please enjoy both galleries of photos for this memorable event.

AN EVENING WITH MARLEE MATLIN & HENRY WINKLER
The Home is grateful to so many sponsors that helped make our 5th Annual Stories of Courage & Grace the most successful event to date. For the fifth year, we were honored to have Bank of America & U.S. Trust serve as our Presenting Sponsor, and to welcome MEDARVA Healthcare as our first-ever Contributing Sponsor, and Morgan Stanley as a brand new Gold Sponsor. With our fifth SOLD OUT audience in as many years, we couldn’t be more thrilled by the support of our community for this event, which does so much to enrich the lives of our residents.

What’s new at The Virginia Home?
We are excited for the 6th annual 5K Walk and Roll taking place on Saturday May 16th. Registration can be found on our Facebook page. This is a great event for family, friends, and even first time volunteers of The Virginia Home to get involved and have some fun with our residents. Guest athletes are also welcomed to join us at this fun, noncompetitive accessible race. We hope to see you there.
