The Virginia Home’s Fall Festival occurred on a beautiful fall morning, 72 degrees and sunny. Nearly 100 residents attended enjoying live music by Grif’s Room Band and Susan Greenbaum. Residents participated in many game booths, several of which were new this year including a Resident Council Pumpkin Pond and a face painter. Thanks to The Home’s many volunteers, residents received a little pampering at Danny’s Salon Glamour Booth and a Funny Photo Booth. Of course, the petting zoo returned and was a big hit. Everything we love about Fall was duplicated in the Powhatan Street Parking lot with the help of many staff, the Junior Board, and volunteers.

The ever popular Halloween Boo House and Social returned this year with the theme Optical Illusion. Think Fun House, black and white checkers, and tunnels full of spiders! We welcomed our favorite DJ and dear friend Pat Musselwhite and Sam Murdock as the entertainment. The Soul Ice Food Truck provided Italian Ice of all flavors and residents enjoyed a Dracula cocktail. Residents were able to “costume up” in Rec Therapy before the party and enjoy an evening of spooky fun.
