Even though The Virginia Home residents might be limited by physical disabilities, they know they are not at all limited when it comes to helping others in their community. Families of the Wounded Fund, the Richmond SPCA, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Children's Hospital are just a few of the worthy causes who have directly benefited from the hard work of The Virginia Home residents. Influenced by the scores of individuals, groups, and corporations who volunteer over 7,000 hours each year at The Home, the residents are very aware of volunteerism and how it impacts their own lives. "So many volunteers have done so much for us," says Christine Newbold, a resident and dedicated community volunteer. Thus, the paradigm of altruism and service does indeed come full circle at The Virginia Home. Explore the links below to learn more about The Home's community outreach projects.
