Rolling Strong — Celebrating the Community

The Walk ‘n’ Roll 5k is a fun, noncompetitive race-like event created for the residents and other friends in the community with disabilities. It’s open to everyone, and is always a great day in RVA for hanging out with friends and family, supporting our resident athletes, and celebrating the community. We rely heavily on volunteers and participants to buddy up with a resident athlete on a course that loops twice around Swan Lake in Byrd Park. There’s plenty of entertainment to be had, too.

We are 10 Years Rolling Strong

Saturday May 11th was a beautiful morning in Byrd Park for a race.  We had 105 Resident Athletes, 6 Guest Athletes from the community, and over 150 volunteers including staff, family and friends that were walking and rolling and had an amazing time at our annual 5K!  Thank you to those that participated, thank you for lending a helping hand, thank you for giving your heart and energy to this event.

A special thank you to our sponsors – The Virginia Home Resident Council, First Response Mobile Chiropractic and a resident family. We are also grateful to P.D. Brooks Traffic, Richmond City Police, Amelia Street School and Richmond City Parks and Recreation for assisting us in making this event a success!
