The Virginia Home chaplain offers pastoral care to all of our residents as they desire. The chaplain conducts a weekly Sunday afternoon ecumenical worship service for residents; family and guests are always welcome. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and as part of a Celtic Worship service on the second Sunday of each month. The chaplain conducts Bible studies on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening as well as other programs of spiritual interest during the week. The chaplain visits all of our residents if they are hospitalized, offering support to their families as well as to those who are ill. The chaplain is available to read the Bible or other spiritual material to our residents on a one-to-one basis as requested. The chaplain prays for and with our residents. Volunteers from local churches supplement the offerings of the chaplain. The Virginia Home chaplain is an ordained minister with a Master of Divinity degree as well as training and experience in special education.
