Residents of The Virginia Home are entitled to involvement in recreation and leisure activities, as part of a healthy and meaningful lifestyle. The Recreation Therapy Department offers daily opportunities for residents to pursue a variety of interests and to develop unique preferences. Our Recreation Therapy staff breaks down barriers to leisure by providing social, cognitive, physical, and environmental adaptations so that each resident can participate at their highest level of independence. Led by five Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists, one Board-Certified Music Therapist, and a Recreation Assistant, the residents enjoy a leisure lifestyle full of choices and exciting opportunities.
