Residents in the News
Sportable provides adaptive sports and recreation opportunities in Richmond, Virginia. Sportable transforms the lives of people with physical and visual disabilities through sport! The Virginia Home has been involved with Sportable since they began with power soccer in TVH’s gym. Over the years, Sportable has grown and power soccer was offered in various other locations through the years. As Sportable grew, other sports and recreation opportunities were presented. Now, twice a year, we have 4 residents participate in Power Soccer. This summer, it was held at the Northside YMCA and ended with a scrimmage at Cool Springs Baptist Church. The residents who participate love being a part of the team and look forward to each season.
Hail to the Redskins!
Many thanks to two generous donors, Jay Rhodes and Monti Lee, for providing tickets and parking passes to the Redskins’ pre-season games making it possible for 24 residents and staff to attend this year! The Virginia Home was beyond excited to attend another NFL game.
